A new start to the Alamo series, with a new captain launching a new mission.
I'm almost tempted to call this the best Alamo novel to date, except that the series is generally consistently very good so its hard to pick a 'best.'
We have multiple factions of a dying people, struggling over the resources needed to save their people - and an outside actor in Alamo and Lieutenant Captain Orlova who might be able to fix everything.
Tightly paced with well-realized characters and a grimly realistic conflict, Triple-Edged Sword is easily worth your time!
"Mr. Tongue," continues his flailing attempts to keep the foundering "Battlecruiser Alamo" series afloat with Book 17, "Triple-Edged Sword."
Once again the "Alamo," under the command of its new captain, sails off on a supposed long duration voyage to find the "not-men." Again as usual, the "Alamo" gets involved in a intra-system conflict among a decaying, human populace. Nothing new, nothing imaginative, just a sham rehash of earlier plots, renamed and repositioned. The same bad writing, absent editing, and abhorrent proofreading are also present. The eBook author continues to write torturous narratives, as if he is an escapee from a Renaissance Fair or a British public boarding school of the 19th century. Who else uses "whilst" or "erstwhile" on a regular basis? The one dimensional characters are either wholly venal or magically heroic. Nothing "Mr. Tongue" pens rings true-it is all hollow and banal.
This eBook was read fully via Unlimited and is NOT recommended. Spend your time and/or money on something worthwhile.

This was a good start to a new story arc. I just wish Danny was still in the story though. Anxious for the next one.
